REDUCED! ORIGINALLY PAID #1,250.00 IN 1980;S. This stunning piece was purchased from the Govenor's Antiques in Mechanicsville Virginia in the late 1980's for a price much higher than it is listed for now. I was told that it is rare and I had many years of Kovel;s books and Antique Traders books and have never found anything like it for the last 27 years. The closest items I found were classified as "Gaming Table", ." Ladies Grooming Table", "Bedroom Grooming Chest", Kitchen Table" and "Kitchen Utensil Table". I know I used it for years as an extra piece in a beautiful dinig room, it held additional placemats with napkins, tablecloths and napkin ring holders. The three drawers are very spacious and hold quite a lot. The wood resembles Rosewood or Mahogny. All parts are original. Quite rare is the chest of drawers atop a single carved pedalstal with four carved claw feet with wheels. Again, very rare! The glass knobs are veautiful and the pictures do not do them justice. Excellent condition for a piece this old. Oh...if only it could talk! What part of American history could it tell about since it has been around so long. Please feel free to call me at
